When I first decided to start Six String Web Design, it wasn’t just about building websites—it was about blending two of my deepest passions: guitars and technology. My journey into web design started long before the internet became the world-changing force it is today. Back in the early ‘90s, I ran a successful Bulletin Board System (BBS) using PCBoard software. That was my introduction to the world of online communities and digital experiences, where I got hooked on the idea of connecting people through technology.
At the same time, I was knee-deep in another lifelong love—guitars. I’ve been playing guitar for over 40 years. I love restoring old, worn-out instruments and making them feel like new again. I actually have a full guitar workshop in my home. That passion for music has never wavered, and it’s what’s kept me going through every phase of my life, no matter what else was happening.
As I built websites for clients and myself over the years, I realized something: the guitar world didn’t have nearly enough love when it came to great websites. Luthiers, music stores, recording studios, and musicians all had one thing in common—websites that didn’t represent the artistry behind the craft. I knew I could do something about that, and that’s where Six String Web Design was born.
But it wasn’t just a business decision for me; it was personal. I know firsthand the blood, sweat, and tears that go into creating music, crafting an instrument, or recording a track that’s just right. It made sense that I’d want to give back to that community in a way that combines everything I love. Web design is more than a job for me; it’s a way to tell a story, to create a digital space that reflects the heart and soul of a business or musician.
Every website I build for Six String Web Design is crafted with that same mindset I use when restoring a guitar—attention to detail, a personal touch, and a deep respect for the craft. I’m not just offering a service; I’m offering a shared understanding of what it means to put everything you have into your work. That’s why I started Six String Web Design: to bring the same level of care and creativity I use in restoring guitars to a field where authenticity matters.
If I can help a musician, a luthier, or a recording studio capture their unique voice online, then I’m doing what I set out to do. This isn’t just web design; it’s about amplifying the essence of what makes their business—or their music—special.
